The drums are just the tools that we use. Our ultimate goal is not to make drummers. If our students don't become drummers, or a musicians, we are OK. We want them to become contributing members of our society. This may seem like a lofty goal, but it is one that can be achieved through mastering the skills of playing drums. Playing drums helps to build confidence and coordination, while also teaching important social skills such as teamwork and cooperation. Drumming can also be a powerful form of self-expression, providing an outlet for emotions that might otherwise go internalized. As a result, drumming can have a profound impact on those who participate in it, ultimately helping them to lead more fulfilling and productive lives.
