Mission And Values

Our Mission

Huntsville Community Drumline fosters hope and potential in youth and adults through music education, technology and teamwork, to provide a positive path for becoming contributing members of society.

Drums are just the tools we use...

The drums are just the tools that we use. Our ultimate goal is not to make drummers. If our students don't become drummers, or a musicians, we are OK. We want them to become contributing members of our society. This may seem like a lofty goal, but it is one that can be achieved through mastering the skills of playing drums. Playing drums helps to build confidence and coordination, while also teaching important social skills such as teamwork and cooperation. Drumming can also be a powerful form of self-expression, providing an outlet for emotions that might otherwise go internalized. As a result, drumming can have a profound impact on those who participate in it, ultimately helping them to lead more fulfilling and productive lives.

Our Values

We are dedicated to providing a community service through instruction, performance and outreach opportunities for youth in grades 1st through 9th willing to commit to the rigorous training, discipline, practice, and the demanding performance schedule of the Huntsville Community Drumline.

Unique Experience...

Huntsville Community Drumline is a unique and fulfilling experience that builds self-esteem while providing an opportunity for youth to explore their creativity. The Huntsville Community Drumline strives towards one goal: helping kids learn about music without limits, through rigorous training sessions in which they're encouraged by instructors who inspire them every step of the way; performances where participants get up on stage with other musicians from all walks of life--even if it's just playing atmosphere sound effects during halftime at football games! The best part? There will always be more practice waiting to grow and improve after these events have ended.
Huntsville Community Drumline is an Alabama based 501(c)3 non-profit that provides free music education programming to youth in grades 1-12 and "seasoned" adults.
